Each year since 2010, Queens College has offered cultural and academic programming focused on a different nation or region (China, Turkey, India, Brazil, South Africa, The Silk Roads, and Korea). Named the ‘Year Of’ program, this initiative reflects Queens College’s mission to serve and educate our college community about today’s global community. Additionally, the Year of Program celebrates Queens College as one of the most culturally diverse colleges in the world. Teaching and learning about other countries and their impact on our daily lives is a way to welcome our students that hail from more than 150 nations. Finally, the Year of Program aims at presenting Queens College not only as a premier public university in New York City, but more importantly, as an institution that is proud of its students’ diverse heritage.
